Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Review
Products in this review:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus 235/45-18
Tesla Motors Club member Thunder7ga replaced his OEM tires on his Model 3 RWD at 35,500 miles and 14 months of driving. Here is an overview of his comments:
Handling/Comfort – feels ‘snug’ and has much more grip than the OEM tires. Thunder7ga also says the overall ride is smoother and more comfortable on the Pilot Sport AS 3+ than the OEM Primacy MXM4
Noise – No noticeable change in road noise, if anything, they may be quieter
Appearance – These tires have a little more rim lip coverage, and seem to actually be slightly wider even though they are supposed to be the same official ‘tire’ size
Cost – These are cheaper than the EV specific Primacy MXM4 tires
Efficiency – Since this isn’t an EV specific tire, it’s expected to be less efficient. After about 600 driving miles, Thunder7ga is seeing about 25-30 wh/mile increase in energy usage. (which is around 10% loss of range)
